Jenny Nichols
TheatreFest Convention Director
For proper planning of this large event it is important that you, our members, don’t wait until Dec. 1 or even worse Jan. 29 to register. We cannot anticipate how many people will attend if you don’t register early. Failing to register in advance means the sessions you may want to see will be in rooms that won’t accommodate large numbers of people. It could mean that we won’t have enough programs or convention bags for those who register on-site. It could mean that there aren't enough seats in the ballroom for the special guest event. So help out our volunteer team by registering correctly and early.
As you plan for TheatreFest 2014 in DALLAS on January 29- February 2, please remember that you are not registered until you send in your complete registration form with payment. If you have high school students attending this means they must also fill out the Student Code of Conduct Form. Students who fail to complete both forms will not be considered to have registered until all forms are completed. The deadline to get the discounted early bird price of $125 (plus membership) is December 1. Registering early saves you $50!
On-site registration will open at 5pm on Thursday January 29. We accept Visa, MC and cash ONLY at on-site registration. No personal checks are accepted for any fees after Dec. 1. School checks for the exact amount will be accepted. TETA does not issue refunds for registration fees after Dec. 1. PLEASE NOTE: TETA does not provide receipts prior to the convention unless you send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your registration. While we are happy to issue receipts onsite, TETA does not provide receipts AFTER the event. Please retain the receipt you receive on-site.
Workshop sessions will begin at 8:30am on Friday and conclude at 11:45am on Sunday. (Some committees may meet earlier or later than those times.)
Exhibitors were given the opportunity to sign up for TF14 space at last year’s event but some booths still remain for TF14. If you are a college or commercial vendor looking for space, you should send in your application ASAP to secure the best spot available since we expect to sell out again. Deadline for discounted rate of $600/$200 (IM) is November 1. After that time, if booths remain, the cost will go up to $800/$300 (IM). See the website for forms and maps.
If you are interested in volunteering your skills or your students at TheatreFest 2014, we are still looking for help in programing and events. Please contact me at jenny@tetatx.com if you are interested.
There are new procedures for Auditions this year, so please see the article by Dusty Davidson for more information.
Hotel reservations are now open for TETA members. The special link for on-line reservations is https://resweb.passkey.com/go/TETAJan2014 Using this link will ensure that you get the discounted rate of $165 for up to 4 people per room. Remember that by staying in the host hotel, you help keep TETA’s costs down, which allows us to keep the registration fee at $125. The more people who stay at our host hotel, the better it is for everyone.
A complete announcement of programming and guests will be available in the near future. Taking a moment in advance to make certain that your registration is completed correctly will help ensure a great TheatreFest experience for all.
