Amended and Restated Bylaws

On our website (TETA File Cabinet Tab) you will find posted the new amended and restated TETA Bylaws recently adopted by the Board of Directors of the Association. These Bylaws are the result of an extended review by the Board of Directors over many months with the assistance of legal counsel. The Board felt this review was necessary not only to make the Bylaws more consistent with current practices but also to make changes that are considered improvements for the benefit of the membership. I cannot thank the Board of Directors enough for their hard work and diligence in performing this review

Some of the changes made in the new Bylaws include: (1) the addition of two new classes of membership: Retired Members and Affiliated Association Membership; (2) the addition of two new directors at large positions; [3] the addition of a new Treasurer-Elect officer position; and(4) the change of all officer terms of office to two years. At the Annual Meeting of the Association Members to be held at TheatreFest 2015, there will be elections for the positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, Treasurer-Elect and the two Directors-at-Large.. After the elections the Board of Directors will consist of ten members. The nominations for these five positions by the Nominations Committee of the Board of Directors will be announced prior to convention.

I encourage everyone to attend this important annual meeting. The meeting will be scheduled at a much more convenient time during convention to promote the greatest possible attendance. We want as many members as possible to attend so that we can conduct business in an appropriate and effective manner and so we can provide as much information as possible concerning the Association directly to our members. Please plan to attend and encourage others to attend.
