Together Toward Tomorrow

Our theme for TheatreFest 2015 was unveiled this past week: “Together Toward Tomorrow.” This theme is so fitting at this time in our organization. Together, we embark on a journey of transparency and collaboration, to ensure the longevity of our cherished organization.

After SummerFest, I shared my “one word” for the year: service. I challenged you to explore service as your “one word.” Now is the time to serve! TheatreFest planning is underway and we need you!

Over the years, I know I have learned so much at TheatreFest from teachers like Alisa Mirabella, Robin Welch, Juliet Weigand, Missey Head, Sara Schochler and so many others. Their passion, creativity and fabulous lessons inspired me to change my work in the classroom. I cannot tell you how many times I have adapted lessons after attending TheatreFest. Please consider sharing something with your fellow TETA K-12 Teachers. Sharing and collaboration is what TETA is all about.

TheatreFest is not just a fabulous professional development opportunity, designed specifically for us. It is also a time for students to experience what theatre is all about. At TheatreFest, students from across the state join us in order to attend workshops, college auditions and more. Our students are the “tomorrow” of our organization. Help us create amazing programming for our future. Please consider presenting a workshop for our students.

Our new and improved website makes registering and submitting workshop proposals the easiest it has ever been! If you have not visited the website recently, I encourage you to do so!

Submit a workshop proposal online for TheatreFest 2015! Proposals are due by November 1. Consider service. Consider giving back. Together we can create the best TheatreFest yet!

I look forward to seeing everyone at TheatreFest 2015.

Together Toward Tomorrow!

Jenae Glanton
TETA K-12 Chair-Elect
