TETA Auditions

Happy New Year!

TheatreFest is fast approaching, and this year we are so excited to provide new opportunities for your students to network with colleges and universities. This year we took away the limit for the number of students who can audition from each school which caused us to have more students sign up than ever before. As of right now we have a grand total of 208 students signed up for 120 spots, because of this overwhelming number of students interested we will be providing an opportunity for those students who did not make an audition time to still submit their headshot and resume to the dropbox to be viewed by the college auditors that are attending TETA. That way if your student did not get an audition spot they can still visit a booth in the exhibit hall and the colleges will have access to their files. Also if your student did not get in for acting auditions, but would like to do technical auditions instead we still have room for technical auditioners, just be sure to contact me so we can change it and get their information in as soon as possible.

Tips on how your students can make the most of their time at TETA: Have them...

Upload their resume and headshot to the TETA Auditions Dropbox to be available to the colleges.

Visit all the colleges in the exhibit hall to network with their programs.

Memorize their monologues if they are auditioning.

Bring their portfolios with them for callbacks so they can use it as reference to show the college auditors. Here are some things to be sure to include in their portfolios:

Pictures speak a thousand words: Have them put photo examples of their work whether it’s a character they have played, a set they have helped build, or a prop that they have designed.

Writing Examples: Have them include anything they are proud of such as character analysis papers, design concept papers, plays or scenes they have written, etc.

Awards they have received.

Go to workshops, participate in events, and Network, Network, Network!
