Welcome to spring! I know that most of you, like me, are busily involved with one act play "season". One of my FaceBook friends said "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" Whether you are a director, a clinician, or an adjudicator, one act certainly is one of the great things about Texas educational theatre. In springtime, we build a statewide community of theatre, and it's not just about the competition. It's about the love and appreciation of the art, isn't it?

Speaking of love and appreciation, I must express my gratitude to Dr. Gene Dickey, Jenny Nichols and the entire TheatreFest 2012 crew! Despite a year of hardship in educational theatre, you put together a conference that addressed the needs of theatre teachers at ALL levels, and provided educational opportunities for theatre students. Few people understand the amount of work you do; you contribute limitless hours of your time to create an event that enriches the lives of young artists. Thank you for being such giving, caring people who truly love the art of theatre.


This summer presents another opportunity for pursuing the love of the art. SummerFest 2012 will be in San Antonio in July. Attend SummerFest for hands-on workshops and ideas that will greatly enrich your curriculum.
