TETA Board of Directors Nominations

It is once again time to nominate members for the upcoming vacancies on the TETA Board of Directors.

The Nominating Committee of the BoD would welcome nominations from the membership.

The available positions include President-Elect, Treasurer-Elect, and At-Large Member 1.

The President-Elect is a six year commitment, serving two years as President-Elect, two as President, and two as Immediate Past President.

Since the current President-Elect is from the College/University membership, the committee will give special consideration to nominees from the K-12 ranks.

The Treasurer-Elect is a four year commitment, with two years as Treasurer-elect and two as Treasurer.

Finally, the At-Large 1 position is a two year term, and should be from the K-12 membership.

The duties of these offices can be found on the TETA website in the By-Laws and the Manual of Operations. Obviously, these are important positions in the leadership of TETA and the nominees should be prepared to rise to the challenge. The board meets no fewer than three times a year, including the annual convention, and at such times as deemed necessary by the President of the board. Any active member is eligible to serve. A member may self-nominate, or submit the name of a colleague for consideration.

To make a nomination, please submit the name of the individual and the office for which you are nominating them, along with a brief statement of their affiliations (e.g., employment, TETA involvement, etc.), a brief statement of why you think they would make a good board member, and contact information for the nominee.

You will find an electronic Board Member Nomination Form on the TETA website under the File Cabinet tab. You may send any questions you might have electronically, to Charlie Hukill, Chair of the Nominating Committee, at president.elect@tetatx.com , by phone at 325-698-1399, or by U.S Post to 1933 Highland Ave., Abilene, TX 79605.

The Board of Directors of TETA exists to serve the membership and urges you to play an active role in the governance of the organization.
