Charting a Course

Greetings, Members!

Happy New Year to you and yours! We hope that you have had a restful winter break and are ready to tackle 2018 with a renewed energy and excitement. As you finalize your plans for the 2nd semester, I want to encourage you to put this year’s TheatreFest convention on your calendars. Each year, our convention staff as well as countless volunteers, work tirelessly into the night to make sure that our annual convention meets and exceeds all of our expectations. Regardless of whether you are working on completing your first year as an educator, or may be facing retirement in a few short months, TETA’s TheatreFest provides professional development and growth opportunities that can immediately impact your curriculum and instruction at your campus and in your programs; regardless of experience.

Over the last year, the Board of Directors have been working to ensure that you (our members) are taken care of, and afforded opportunities that thank you for your membership and attendance at the annual convention. Once again, 2018 brings one of our most affordable conventions with low early-bird registration rates of $120 (register and pay for convention by January 9th), as well as convention perks such as the TETA Travel Stipend program (over $25,000 has already been awarded to attending members). Additionally, every member who preregisters (by January 9th) will receive a convention t-shirt, as well as additional “SWAG” (Stuff We All Get) items in your convention bag! Finally, once again the convention will feature drawings during the Convocation and Business Meeting that amount to over $5,000 in member perks and items from our onsite vendors. You do not want to miss this opportunity to shop until you drop!

We hope that you will consider Charting a Course for this year’s TheatreFest at Moody Gardens, Galveston! Come join us from January 24th-27th and see why TETA, Inc. continues to provide exceptional professional development opportunities for all Theatre Arts educators and students. Until then, take care, stay warm and have a wonderful start to your 2018.

Best,
Timothy Estelle
Treasurer, TETA, Inc.
