Some members are aware that TETA has had an 800 number for several years. This was intended to make it easy for our members to get the answers they needed from the correct source and to reduce the number of calls going to the UIL office. However, this has not been the case. So as of Dec. 31, 2012 we will be discontinuing the 800 answering service.
We have enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy, a close and harmonious relationship with UIL. However, when TETA members call the UIL office for TETA business because Jenny Nichols works for both organizations, this creates a conflict of interest. Jenny’s primary employment and full time responsibilities are correctly committed to UIL. Often, especially during periods leading up to TheatreFest, the number of calls she gets for TETA eclipses the number of calls she gets for UIL. This is not fair to UIL or to Jenny. The only calls that should be going to UIL from TETA members are those related to the Adjudicator Committee.
