News From the BoD

The Board of Directors is happy to report that our two-day meeting in Waco this past weekend was very successful.

With the assistance of legal counsel, we discussed the changes needed to create a first draft of a revised TETA By-Laws and also started the process of updating the Manual of Operations to reflect those changes. Once all the revisions are finalized, we will post the new By-Laws on our website along with a summary of the changes.

SummerFest plans and expectations were discussed and this year's pre-registration numbers are ahead of where we were at this time last year. We anticipate an exciting and educational SummerFest at McMurry University and encourage all K-12 Theatre Educators to join us in Abilene.

Convention Directors, Jerry Ivins and Missey Head joined us to discuss plans for TheatreFest 2015. We are very excited by their preliminary reports and can't wait to see what the convention will bring to Houston.

These are exciting times for TETA and we will do everything we can to keep our members informed of everything that is happening.  Instead of a quarterly online magazine, we will be updating our Texas Theatre Notes Blog with news as it happens along with all the informational articles we have always included.  Feel free to visit often or subscribe to the blog for email updates.

Have a great summer!
