We have a wonderful audition opportunity for those students already planning on attending the TETA TheatreFest Convention! 

The audition deadline has come and gone, and we are excited to say that we still have slots open for a “walkup” audition time.  Perhaps a student wanted to audition, but:
  • the school was already sending the maximum number of juniors, seniors or community college transfer students.  This opportunity is in addition to those that are already attending!
  • the student missed the original deadline.
  • the student did not know of the Audition opportunity.
  • the student did not know at the time they were attending the Convention.
Regardless of the reason, here is one more opportunity to audition.  On Saturday January 30th 2016 we have created an open audition for up to 45 juniors, seniors and/or community college transfer students. This is a restricted audition but a great opportunity.   The “Open Audition” will be different in the following ways from the first set of auditions:
  • The first group of Auditioners had the option to pay or not to pay for the entire Convention.  The “Open Auditions” will be for those students that are paying for the entire Convention.  For this reason, the “Open” Auditioners will not need to pay the Audition fee.
  • The first group of Auditioners will have submitted their application and resume to Accepted.  This means that the College and Universities will have their resumes and headshots prior to the Convention to study.  The “Open” Auditioners will not go through Accepted.  They will bring 50 copies of their headshots and resumes with them to the auditions to give to the Auditors in real time.
  • The first group of Auditioners are eligible to apply for the Founder’s Scholarship.  The “Open” Auditioners are not eligible to apply for Founder’s.  For this reason, the “Open” Auditioners will not need to get copies of their transcripts.
  • The first group of Auditioners will have 60-120 seconds of audition time.  The “Open” Auditioners are limited to 45 seconds.
  • The first group of Auditioners may choose to sing for part of their audition.  The “Open” Auditioners are limited to acting, only.
This is a fantastic opportunity for TETA students!  Teachers, please encourage your students to take advantage of this opportunity. They will get to perform/present in front of the same Colleges and Universities on the day of audition. The students will get the same call-back opportunities, as well.  Please take advantage of the opportunity ASAP!  This is limited to the first 45 students that apply!

Step #1 - Email Jacob Davis at jacobdavisteta@gmail.com
    • Include the student’s name
    • Include the student’s email and phone number
    • Classification (Junior, Senior or Community College Transfer Student)
    • Name of the high school or college
    • Email must be received by January 27th 2016 at 5pm to be accepted
Step #2 – Make sure the student is registered and paid for the TETA
            Membership ($20) and the full Convention ($120).  Registration for
            Convention will be verified before they will be counted as one of the
            45.
Step #3 – Print 50 copies of a resume and headshot (can be any picture). 
            This should be on only one sheet of paper, with the picture on the
            front or back of the piece of paper.

That’s it!  No additional steps.  Students will be notified via email once they are accepted as one of the 45.  Auditions will be accepted by order received and Convention registration confirmation.
