Donna McKechnie, Tony Award-winning star of A CHORUS LINE, Ms. McKechnie is regarded internationally as one of Broadway's foremost dancing and singing stars. Donna has recently returned from London after a successful "out of town" tryout with her new cabaret show, "Gypsy in My Soul."

Donna will be doing a Master Class in Musical Theatre Performance. This is a class she has done around the country and at the HB (Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof) Studios in NYC. The technique is based on acting. She has each student break down the song as an actor would break down his/her script. Work on the story being conveyed having a beginning, middle and end. What is the intention of the piece?
Body language - some performances are brilliant only from the neck up.
She works with vocal/body exercises and relaxation techniques. Helps student to lose inhibitions.
Purpose is to prepare the student both for auditions and for actual performance.
Students all leave with printed materials and with recommended reading list.
Students who observe typically get as much from the session as the ones who actually work with her on stage. The class will be two and a half hours in length.
Each student who would like to participate should bring a song. All should have some acting training as well as ability to sing. Mary Ekler will be her accompanist.

In addition, she will use some of the Master Class students as her own "Chorus Line" in a performance on Saturday.
